Welcome in Mirki Village Council website

The Palestinian village of Mirki is located southwest of the city of Jenin in the West Bank, at a distance of 12 km from it, in a mountainous area reaching an altitude of 430 m above sea level. Its land area is 4,400 dunums, of which the village’s buildings and houses occupy an area of 180 dunums. Cereals and vegetables are grown there, in addition to fruit trees, the most important of which are olives, as well as figs, apricots, and grapes.

The village of Mirki is located in the middle of the following villages and towns:
* Bir al-Basha village to the north
* Qabatiya town from the northeast
* Jarba village east to southeast
* Al-Zawiya village to the south
* Mansoura village from the southwest
* Wadi Daouk village to the west
* And the Arabs of Damayra from the northwest

It is said that the name of the village goes back to the origin of the Syriac word (Ma’araka), meaning a bundle of firewood, or (Ma’araka), meaning a refuge.

The population of the village of Marka in 1922 was estimated at 142 people, while in 2023 the number was estimated at about 2,500 people.
